Tobie's Birth Story

Have I introduced you to my beautiful daughter, Tova Lieba?  Tova = "good" in Hebrew and Lieba = "loved one" in Yiddish (also "heart" in Hebrew, as in "good heart" or "kind heart").  We'll call her Tobie to keep up with our West Wing cast... (Abby, Ellie, Sam, now Tobie.  I think we'll start calling J-man Jed)

So let me tell you a little bit about how Tobie came to be born, a month early and not a moment too soon...

This is really obscenely long...Collapse )

she is just gorgeous and that was a wonderful and entertaining story to read. So glad you got your VBAC. I HATE labor but will happily be pregnant so maybe we should team up ;)

mazel tov! I'm a friend of Nomi, who told me all about your miracle pregnancy. Tova is a beautiful little girl and I hope you have nothing but naches from her.

This story made me tear up in happiness for you - I mean, your baby is safe, and in your arms, and so obviously wonderful. I don't know of a better ending to a pregnancy than that. (I am so glad that that one thing went right in your pregnancy! If you only got one, that was the one to pick.)

Anyway. Congratulations. I am so glad Tobie is here, and that all of you are safe and well.

Thanks for posting your labor story. I'm a sucker for them!

I'm so happy you had a healthy baby via VBAC - after all you've been through it's great to read a happy ending. And I'm glad that the epidural wasn't as bad as your previous experience with anesthesia. I LOVE the epidural; it's the best invention of the 20th century!

Are those professional baby pictures? They're so cool!

Wow. :) I'm glad you got to deliver her without surgery and that your doctors worked with you and *listened* to what you had to say.

I incorrectly assumed you had had a c/s. Just in regards to the time of day and earliness of her arrival. B'h she is healthy, and came in due time.

I am so pleased for you that you had a birth as you had hoped rather than surgery out of medical necessity.

once again mazel tov to your whole family, may she only bring you nachas.
