Busy Day - Karen's Musings
Random Rambling
Busy Day
Today was a productive day. Sort of. Babies were fed. Babies were played with. Babies were fed. Laundry was folded (not by me...Seth gets the credit for that). Babies were fed. Lots of food was cooked. Babies were fed. Socializing was done. Babies were fed...

I made meals for four families today... two families in my community had babies in the last two weeks, another friend of mine had triplets at the end of January, and beckyfeld just got out of the hospital, so I made meals for each of them. I figured it was better to do them all in one day, than to spread them to four separate days. I was right. I made:
  • Sweet and Sour Meatballs
  • White Rice
  • Roasted Butternut Squash
  • Roasted Asparagus
  • Marinated Tomatoes
  • Brownies

It worked out really nicely, though I didn't plan well enough to have meatballs left over for us! Whoops. (Seth did get to eat some meatballs last night and Julian got to eat a few meatballs for lunch, so it's not like they didn't get any benefit!)

Seth ran around doing errands for me, delivering meals, picking up stuff at BJs, folding laundry, helping babies, etc. I spent the day cooking, packing up food, feeding babies, and I even got to spend time with Eleanor who came over to see the babies for a bit. I must say it will be a while before I deal with this much cooking again, but it was nice to be in the kitchen for a bit again. It had been too long.

Now I'm off to take a nap before the next feeding... I hate daylight savings time...it screws up everything!

Go you! I think of you on days when it seems hard to manage having two kids, because you do so well with four.

BTW, are you referring to Eleanor who's also Becky's Ima?

I was figuring that Eleanor = lcmlc, as well.

yes, that is who I meant.

that's the very same Eleanor. I don't ALWAYS get this much accomplished, by the way. I manage to get dressed every day. Sometimes that's my only accomplishment outside of feeding and diapering babies.

well, I wouldn't have cooked that much for just us!

That's awesome that you found time to cook for them! :D

I also agree - daylight savings time isn't easy. I tried explaining to baby tonight and she just didn't want to listen!

amazingly, they've already adjusted their schedules by morning, which is completely odd!

Daylight Saving Time totally sucks. Write me in for President this November. I'll do everything I can to eliminate DST.

I just might do that. I hate DST.

Wow, that sounds busy -- good busy, though. Once again I am floored by your superior organizational skills!

On an unrelated note, our Pesach plans have changed. We are still going to CT, but we're flying, which means we won't be stopping in DC. I had been looking forward to meeting the Cohen clan, but alas, it will have to wait for another time.

Sorry that we'll miss you, but hopefully there will be other opportunities. (and that would be a LONG drive for you, so I'm glad you've decided to fly)
