I didn't mean for my original comment to sound adversarial, but I think it might have sounded that way. I've had migraines since I was a toddler and they suck. I know that some things work for some people and some things work for other people, and I'm not saying it doesn't work. I have no doubt that it works.

There are plenty of things which help reduce the number and severity of migraines I get each month. Depakote, for example, did wonders. But I gained about 60 pounds over the years that I took it, and I haven't been able to take it for the better part of four years, because I've been trying to get pregnant, and Depakote = Evil in early pregnancy.

I knew when I decided I wanted to get pregnant that I was resigning myself to not having migraine relief until after I had kids (I just kinda figured that after four years of it, I'd have a kid or three by now). So that's where I am now.

I did not think your post sounded adversarial at all. May your migraines disappear and you find relief.

I honestly am not sure what I'd do without migraines. Besides rejoice, of course.

Shortly before you started reading my journal, I had a couple posts about a migraine clinical trial I was considering participating in. Here's the first one, since you may be interested in the background:

I have decided not to participate in the trial, but it doesn't matter anyway... I'm finishing up a month-long headache diary via palm pilot to qualify for the study (I figured it couldn't hurt to finish the qualifying month, even if I ended up not doing the study)... but I'm 98% percent certain all my worrying about whether to do the study was for nothing... because I'm not going to qualify. I simply get too many migraines.
