The problem for me is two fold: First, I would rather put up with a migraine than use a nasal spray. I would, frankly, rather put up with gall bladder surgery, kidney stones, migraines, and broken limbs than use a nasal spray. I hate them. Even if I know they are fabulous.

Second, capsaicin tends to give me really horrifying migraines. I'm not surprised, however, that this works. In fact, Seth told me recently about some clinical trials going on with capsaicin nasal sprays and migraines. (Also one with botox injections, and one which I recently considered participating in with closing a PFO in migraine patients' hearts). It makes sense, really.. if the capsaicin opens up your blood vessels and improves blood flow in the brain, and keeps the blood vessels from clamping down, migraines would likely be reduced. It's a great theory and I have no doubt it works for a lot of people.

(I just saw on their website that they acknowledge that Capsaicin and Peppermint can actually bring on headaches in a small percentage of people... Peppermint is another headache trigger for me... they say that it should be short lived and go away after a few days, but I remain dubious)

It took me 3 years of having daily migraines that were becoming more and more debilitating for me to consider this so I totally understand. And if stuff in it brings on your headaches then I'd stay away to be on the safe side.

Oh heavens, the combination of peppermint and chocolate is deadly for me. For some reason it's much worse than either of them alone. Same goes for chocolate/peanut butter combinations.
