first day
Today was my first day at my new contract.

I hate working. I truly do. I used to think that I wouldn't want to be a housewife/stay at home mom/domestic engineer/etc. I'm still not convinced that I would totally love it, but I can't begin to describe how much I hate working. I hope this is just a phase.

Current Mood: annoyed annoyed

I thought I would go bonkers being a stay at home whatever, but it's been fine, really. I do not miss the office drama, the shlepping, the stress. However, when Joel kiddingly referred to me as a housewife at our doctor's appointment yesterday I secretly plotted his death for about two minutes. Turns out I am MIGHTY SENSITIVE to my position :)

Oh how I wish I could be referred to as a housewife!

Actually, I'm really glad that you're going to be a stay at home mom with your new baby from Russia. I had been secretly worried about that and at the same time, not ballsy enough to tell a virtual stranger how to raise her kid.
But your baby is going to need you front and center for a while in order to get what he needs to catch up.

He's priority #1, for as long as it takes. He is behind by quite a bit and it's going to be work!

As excited as we are, we aren't naive. We've had 2+ years to do research and read about some things to expect.

I appreciate your support and your opinions, too!

I used to love working.
In the last five years, I've intermittently loved the IDEA of working, but hated actually doing it.

Personally, I'm fond of working at home. It has its drawbacks, such as trying to work around the schedule of a capricious toddler and still manage to spend time with my husband and battle laundry- and dish-related chaos. However, there are major advantages too. I get to spend most of the day with my son, but I also get to set time aside for grown-up stuff -- i.e., work that keeps my brain in tune and that helps pay the bills.

i kinda hate work too. but i love earning money. and i have no good excuse to pursue a career in domestic engineering as i am not rich, married, or a mother. however, i am slightly unemployed which is the next best thing to being a stay-at-home mom :D
