I might have to steal your icon. With permission and credit, of course.

Go for it :)

That's from a picture of a poster in the window of a supermarket in MA, which is why the angle is so odd. I actually managed to depress a friend of mine (yes, Jewish) used to shop at that store with that shot.

The original photo is here.

Indeed! My mom was on some sort of freighter either to or from Israel in the late 40's, and the morning after the seder on ship there was matzah with the bacon & eggs...

Well, it is Ramadan, right? So they got the dome of a masjid.

Anyway, domes may say "mosque" in Western culture, but they say "big public building" in Middle Eastern culture. The Hurva Synagogue, the church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul (not Constantinople) etc. are domed buildings.

Yes, but there's also the cross on top of the steeple.

aw, you're sweet. I just haven't been over at WJ because I've been busy with the holidays. I'll be back eventually. When I catch up on my sleep.

Julian's great... he's HUGE. And talking a lot, which is great, because he was such a late talker. He loves the succah, and he has his own plush lulav and esrog that he adores. He's learned all about them in school, so it's exciting for him to see them in real life. Thanks for asking!
