The latest pictures of Julian are up on the website. Sorry for the
delay. We've been busy keeping up with that little ball of energy.
Julian is talking a lot more now. He has so many words I can hardly
think of them all: Up, please, thank you, more, pizza, kitty, Abba,
Eewee (that's me), hi, bye, cheese, frog, fishy, book, read, truck,
car, apple, banana, down, done, train, geppa (grandpa), Savta (Hebrew
for "grandmother"), Shabbat (sabbath), pee (yes, you read that
right...he let's us know!), diaper, shoes, sock, tv, picture, pasta,
noodle, flower, mower, bus, ball, no, yes, wow, and he even said
"Julian" one day (sort of). He's quite the prolific little guy; he'll
be writing his dissertation soon.
Julian is about 32-33 pounds, and maybe 37 inches tall? "They" say
that if you double a child's height when they are two years old, that's
how tall they will be when they are fully grown. At this rate, he'll
be at least as tall, if not taller, than his Abba. Julian will be two
in a little over a month, and he will get the last of a long series of
immunizations at his 2 year check up. After his two year check up, he
only needs to go to the doctor once a year! Unbelievable.
He loves trains, cars, trucks, and balls. He enjoys playing with
play-doh and crayons. He and I explored finger paints for the first
time a couple weeks ago and I've got red finger-paint on the ceiling to
prove it (I wonder if it will come off...?)! Ah, the joys of
parenting! Someday soon I hope to scan some of his artwork so I can
post a page of Julian art. Someday his work will be famous and it will
be worth a lot of money. Or, um, something. Maybe I'm getting a
little ahead of myself. But he's definitely working on that
Sadly, Julian is reaching the end of an era. His nanny, Gina, will not
be with him daily as he embarks on his third year of life, though we do
hope to still get to visit with her. The family we share her with is
expecting another baby and is hiring a live-in au pair. But all
endings make way for exciting new beginnings, and Julian will be
starting nursery school in the 2-year old program at the Melvin J.
Berman Hebrew Academy (http://www.mjbha.org) in September. We're very
excited and I know he'll have a great time there. He is such an
energetic and curious little boy that I am certain he will thrive being
around other children and having a structured day with lots of fun
I'm trying to think if there's anything else going on with him, but I
can't think of anything off-hand. That's it in a nutshell.
