Family May 2012

So every Friday I have to do a Status Report for my two managers and my activity lead. Today I had a two page summary of my activities for the week...documents I'd reviewed, progress I'd made on the document I'm writing, meetings I'd attended, action items I'd completed, and planned actions for next period. I had no idea how much work I'd managed to complete.
On a not so happy note, I was up half the night (maybe more) not feeling well. I had a splitting migraine all night. Aleve didn't help. Percocet didn't help. Purring kitties didn't help. Warm, cuddly sweetie didn't help. The smell of an apple pie baking at 1:30 in the morning didn't help (I'll explain that below). Ugh. The alarm going off at 5:30 definitely didn't help. Now I'm exhausted. Thank goodness I get off of work at 10:30 today.

So why was I baking a pie at 1:30 in the morning? Well, I couldn't sleep anyway...and we have a congregant at our synagogue that just had knee surgery and people are taking turns bringing her meals. Since I get out of work early on Fridays, I volunteered to bring her Shabbat Dinner. I figured since I was up and not sleeping and cooking her dinner ahead of time anyway, I made a pie. I made her dinner ahead of time (roast chicken, roasted potatoes and carrots, tossed salad, challah [store bought], and apple pie) because I still have to cook dinner for us tonight.

On that note, I'm looking forward to having Hillel and Jeanne over to dinner for Shabbat tonight. Here's hoping the house gets cleaned up this afternoon. On the menu? I'm not sure yet. Definitely Chicken (Rosemary Garlic Roasted Chicken Maybe? Not sure yet)... Maybe Cous Cous with Chick Peas or Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Definitely Salad. Matzoh Ball Soup. Probably Pecan Pie. I may scrap the whole thing and come up with something different. We shall see. Right now I'm thinking really hard about a NAP.

ta ta for now!

Family May 2012

Before I left work today, my activity lead/manager-type person told me what a great job I'd done this week and what great progress I've been making on this security manual (despite the fact that I only sort of made the deadline on this document).

Yay me.
