help?
I'm told Hashem helps make it all work.

Considering how much more there is to do in the kitchen... I sure hope so.

Have I mentioned how happy I am that we're not gonna be here for Pesach? Good luck w/ the cleaning!

I am EXHAUSTED. Shopped and cleaned for pesach all day yesterday. Fortunately, I am using some extra vacation time I have and today is my last day of work before Pesach. Phew.

Can you work something like that out? Take off days or half days? I am only staying home chol hamoed, I don't know how you're doing what you're doing. Good luck.

I don't know how you're doing what you're doing. Good luck.

I don't know how I'm doing what I'm doing either. Heh.

I'd take time off work, except that I really don't have the time to take off. Plus, there are deadlines (aren't there always?). Bleh.

My sister in law works full time and is up to about the same thing you are. BUT - she has 3 big girls home all week to finish up and start baking. That's what we all need - teenage daughters ;)

I dream of teenage daughters.

My oldest is 7 - and she is already VERY helpful. I'm just worried I'll "burn her out" too soon ;)

nah. someday (IY'H) she'll have teenage daughters of her own to torture in the same way!

It will happen. I've started cleaning two days in advance and it was *done*. I don't know how it happens, but it does.

I'm in kitchen limbo - it's not pesadich but I can't cook in it, either. We're doing takeout Chinese (I'm leaving the microwave until Thursday, so I can heat stuff up.)tonight.

I'm in the same place you are with the kitchen. Half of it's done, but not always the right half for what needs to be done. Sigh.

Do you want me to come help? Never mind about the baby, he'll be perfectly happy in his walker or something.

You're very sweet. And I would DEFINITELY take you up on it, except that I just don't think that I'm organized enough even to delegate. It'll get there. It always does.

Maybe I'll have you come before Shavuos to help me do some baking. Shavuous is the dairy holiday, so lots of opportunities for REAL dairy stuff instead of the usual cop-out pareve crap.

I'll help if you want me to, and if it's okay to bring Grace with me.

You're very sweet, but it's okay. The real problem is that I'm not even sure how much (if any) of it could be delegated. It's just in this weird half-way stage right now. None of it can be done while Julian's up and wandering about, but that's okay, because I'm working all week, so I only have the evenings anyway.

Hopefully the kitchen will be done tonight and I can get on with menu planning.

Good luck! I am trying to find a housecleaner who can help me even begin to dig out this place by Friday...

don't try to do it all. Do just the kitchen and dining room.
pocketnaomi From: pocketnaomi Date: April 18th, 2005 05:47 pm (UTC) (Link)
Good thought, although we have crumbs in a lot of other places too. I may have to just leave those, and declare the remainder of the house officially our tenants' zone for the week.

better that something get done than nothing. If you try to worry about all of it, you'll get nothing done and you'll be depressed about it. Focus on one area first. If you finish it, move on to another...everything else is bonus. Vacuum around the junk in the rest of the house (I've never seen your house, I'm just saying, do what you can and not more) and call it even.
pocketnaomi From: pocketnaomi Date: April 18th, 2005 05:59 pm (UTC) (Link)
Yeah, sounds right. Of course this entails buying a vacuum; ours has died. But that part honestly isn't hard, I can do it on the way home from work tomorrow.
estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: April 18th, 2005 06:00 pm (UTC) (Link)
if you need to borrow ours, I'll bring it to you.
pocketnaomi From: pocketnaomi Date: April 18th, 2005 06:03 pm (UTC) (Link)
Thanks, and if I can't get one tomorrow, I'll take you up on that. Since we need to buy one anyway and should've done it a while ago, I'm going to see if I can get to Sears on the way home.

Hashem to the rescue?

Oy. I hope help comes soon (divine or other) to help you prepare the kitchen for passover.

Re: Hashem to the rescue?

It'll all happen. It always does. I'm just tired and cranky right now.
