stupid health crap. - Karen's Musings

stupid health crap.
I have a damn ear infection. This makes me wonder if I should buy my ticket for San Antonio or not. I'm supposed to go there on the 16th. The last time I had an ear infection (I get them every 4-6 months), it lasted 3 1/2 weeks through two antibiotics, ear drops and a trip to an ENT who gave me steroids which helped. I'm nearly positive I don't want to be on a plane with an ear infection. Crap.

That's one.

I can't feel my right hand. I haven't been able to feel my right hand 90% of the time for the last 4months or so. I also cannot feel most of my right arm about 30% of the time. I am not appreciating this.

I'm getting headaches. I don't like it. But at least that's normal.

And my knee still doesn't feel better from my fall down the stairs before Turkey Day.

But mostly, I'm just pissed off about this ear infection.

Current Mood: depressed depressed

I'll actually have to get back to you b/c my father is going to be in town and I'm trying to figure out what day is going to come here for dinner. (he's either coming Tuesday or Wednesday)

Sorry to hear that. Knees take a long time to heal, unfortunately.

Is the loss of feeling in your hands been tested neurologically? You are right in not wanting to fly with an ear infection. I did this once, not realizing I had an ear infection and the pressure made me feel as if my head might explode. It was painful. Headaches are normal for you...as for your knee, has Julian stopped kicking it? :)

I wouldn't expect you to be fully recovered from your attempted flying act. I shiver and shudder when I think of what you did. It's a long way down to the bottom of those stairs. It's a miracle all you have are bumps and bruises.

it's been about 10 years (maybe more) since I've had the loss of feeling tested neurologically. I think at this point, it's becoming necessary again, because the loss of feeling is nearly permanent, and I get so that my hand cramps so much I can't move it. Cramps is the wrong word. But when it gets that numb, it's like it contracts and won't move. It's no good.

And yeah, I guess that was a pretty impressive flying act. Like I said, mostly I'm just pissed about the ear infection. I'd been feeling pretty proud of myself for not having one for 6 months. Sigh.
