car seat fun
Thursday night, Seth went to buy a new carseat with directions from Lis as to what car seat to get. Apparently she almost mentioned to him that there were different patterns, but realized she didn't know patterns anymore (she hasn't bought this car seat in a couple years), so she' didn't bother. Seth dutifully went and bought the car seat and brought it straight to Lis so she could show him how to install it. When he returned with the car seat, Lis said, "What pattern did you get?"

"Pattern? What do you mean what pattern? I'm a guy! I wear clothes so that people don't laugh and point!"

Then Jason (Lis' husband) came out and asked Seth, "So, what pattern did you get?"

Suffice it to say, I returned the yellow car seat with pink sunflowers on it tonight. Bea tried to defend Seth by saying that he was just trying to teach Julian to be accepting of his feminine side, to which Seth replied, "Grunt." I wasn't upset, I was amused. He hadn't realized they came in different patterns, so it's not like he got a girlie car seat on purpose. And it WAS cute, but VERY girly. (there's a picture of it here)

*grin* That's my sweetie.

And now.... MORE PICTURES! Yes, I'm one of *those* moms. Suffer!

Julian LOVES balls!
Julian Ball

Julian has a stuffed dog named Darby. Darby is as big as Julian, but that doesn't stop Julian from carrying him around:

He had a fantabulous time banging this toy on the floor. It made quite a racket. The louder it was, the happier he was, and the more my head screamed for exedrin. Okay, actually, I hate exedrin, but you know...

Teething is fun! It means we get to chew on EVERYTHING and get away with it!

...even our hands! mmmm hands!

OK that's too funny! If I'd known, I'd have offered to switch carseats with you. Mali's marathon is beige w/ puppy paw prints. I got it to "match" Jacob's blue version, but the floral carseat is so pretty!

yeah, I could have switched with Lis, too, but her carseat is two years old. For a $250 car seat, I want it to last 5 years, not three. It is very pretty. And I'm sure you could get just the pad and switch it out. I *wanted* puppy paw prints, but buy buy baby didn't have them. :(

But yeah, the floral was a LEETLE too girly.

ROTFL ... when I was setting up the apartment, Walt warned me to separate his slacks carefully "because I honestly can't tell the difference between navy blue and black." Duly noted. His one pair of navy slacks has been buried underneath a couple pairs of khakis he seldom wears.

I had no idea they came in patterns. I thought car seats had, y'know, generic green cushions or something. What do I know? My estrogen was confiscated at birth or something. :-)

I'm a guy! I wear clothes so that people don't laugh and point!

Hey, I know that feeling. :-) This reminds me of conversations Dani and I have had about home renovations:

Me: Any color preferences for the bathroom?
Dani: So long as it's not pink with purple polka-dots, I really don't care.
Me: Puh-leeze. Not only would that make me cringe on its own, but it would clash with the green in the stained-glass windows.
Dani: There's green in the windows?
