little things
  • I'm off to Indianapolis tonight for the week. Back Friday morning. Need to find someplace to go for shabbos, because no way am I going to be up for cooking and such after that.
  • hurt my back yesterday. Ouch. Not going to make for a fun plane ride.
  • Why am I speaking in sentence fragments?
  • First week of work was busy and, er, interesting. This job is going to take a while to get used to. BearingPoint has a completely different mindset/corporate culture than SAIC had. We'll just have to see. I'm hoping that this week in Indianapolis will help me clear up my mindset about the job.
  • We're moving two weeks from yesterday. Wow. I somehow never really thought this would creep up so quickly.
  • I'm making a lot of typos. I don't like that. Also, my hand keeps hititng the trackpad on my laptop, which moves where my cursor is, which is driving me batty
  • I really don't have a lot of interesting things to say.
  • Saw Harry Potter. I'm taking a minority stance and saying that I really didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Plenty of things annoyed me. I didn't mind the plot deviations (or things left out entirely). I was just perturbed by enough little things that my overall experience wasn't as fantastic as I'd hoped. I do plan to see it again, partly because I'm a Harry Potter freak, and partly to see if my perspective has changed at all now that I've read other people's reactions to it.
  • My throat hurts and my head hurts. I should probably take drugs. My back hurts too. Sigh.
  • I hate glucophage. I know this comes as no shock to any of my faithful readers. But I seriously hate it.
  • Indianapolis has one kosher restaurant at the JCC. I'm going to learn to become very fond of said restaurant.

I didn't either, but I saw it again the next day (Scott and I had already agreed to take my mother) and I was just able to lose myself in the film and have a good time with it. I came away feeling much better than the night before.

Moving in two weeks, eek. Remember, we'll be around to help, but ya gotta ask and let us know! I would certainly invite you over for shabbos but we don't have our acts together right now, so please forgive...there is always some trepidation and worry the first weeks on a job, most of my friends have wondered what in the hell they got themselves into for the first month or so....Glucophage is he DEVIL, ask your doctor if you could take Actos instead...all the benefits of glucophage without the irritating stuff that goes along with it. Actos saved my stomach. I hope your week in Indiana is productive and fun..your husband is eating dinner with us tonight!

    Re: ideas...

Moving is good, you get rid of lots of junk that way. However, you also lose a lot of stuff that way. So it's a mixed blessing.

    Re: ideas...

Harry Plotter is ok. It's a movie based on a kids book. Some of it will do well, some won't. I may eventually see it, once it's on DVD / HBO.

    Re: ideas...

Indianapolis is reasonably ok. It could be worse, you could be going to Bloomington. . .

    Re: ideas...

Just because you have nothing to say is no reason not to post. There are thousands of people online who have nothing to say, and yet post constantly. And yet, every day millions of butterflies flutter around harmlessly, without ever starting a hurricane.

    Re: ideas...

Not that the last part of that ties into anything. Or makes any sense, for that matter.

    Re: ideas...

As an online post I saw said - "Stop the chaos, kill all the butterflies."

    Re: butterflies

Not that the poster was against butterflies. She was pointing out simple solutions to complex problems...

    bananaphone.

    re: Insanity

You deserve a break today. However, today's fully booked. As is tomorrow. How does June 4, 2008 sound?

    Re: Insanity

How long has it been since you thought I was a freak?

Oh wait, you're thinking that now.

    I must be psychic...

    freaky.

    Re: ideas...

    Tell that to your wife.

As for me, these days, I've got plenty to say and no time to say it.

    Re: ideas...

And see, I have nothing to say, and occasionally time to think it.

Wifey doesn't like posting nothingness. I think she's afraid I'll mock her for it... which I probably would.

After all, that's why I haven't been posting. really, it's not that I have no life...

    Re: ideas...

Don't knock Bloomington too badly. I was offered a pretty heft scholarship from IUB's law school. And their music program rocks.

    Re: Bloomington

    hm... no knocking Bloomington, eh?

well, how about Terra Haute? Nothing but cornfields for miles and miles...

    Re: ideas...

but then I'd have to use a mouse. Ick.

    Re: mouse

    mouse?

    nah, use keyboard for all.

not only is it typically faster (since you don't have to move your hands from the keyboard to the mouse), it's more 1337.

that's fine on my Dell, but on the mac, I haven't figured out all the ways to get away without a mouse.

Yes, drugs and higher voltage and 42 are the answers...

and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope...

    Re: drugs..

    Yes...

Among the answers are such diverse elements as drugs, higher voltage, 42, and an almost fanatical.... I'll come in again...
