I stayed home sick yesterday, though I didn't entirely mean to. I woke up feeling cruddy and exhausted, and I emailed work to say that I'd be in late, figuring I'd sleep until mid-day and then go in. I curled back up in bed around 8 and woke up what felt like 15 minutes later. But I looked at the clock and it was after 3pm!! Ickers.

So I'm here at the office now to get a few quick things done and then I'm going to go home and curl into bed praying that the shabbos fairy has dinner ready before sundown.

Hah! Don't I wish!

Current Mood: sick sick

shabbos fairy

There have definitely been weeks when I've decided that the hot-foods counter at Kosher Mart could meet my Shabbat needs. Maybe you could make a stop on your way home?

I hope you're feeling better soon.

Re: shabbos fairy

That's probably pretty much what's going to happen.

Sick? Ick!

And just when I had some good news for you....

We're coming to DC tomorrow....

The plan was to go to the zoo, to see you, and to dinner do (at medieval times).

But if you're sick, part 2 may have to not be done. :(

Get well soon!

Re: Sick? Ick!

I should be okay tomorrow. Just talked with your wifey, but she was running, so I will talk to one of you later today (before 5:30) about it. You are more than welcome to come by.

Re: Sick? Ick!

Yes, she has several appt's today.

The current plan is to leave here early (8am?) and drive up there (getting to the zoo 10 - 10:30 ish), spend the day at the zoo / smithsonians, then come by late in the afternoon ( 5 - 6 ish). We're supposed to be at Medieval times by 8:30 (recommended to be there an hr before the show starts, show starts at 8:30, place is at the Arundel mall) According to Yahoo Maps, it's 25 miles of interstate, so it should be around a 45 min drive (my guestimate).

After we have feasted, we're headed back homeward. We'd discussed (mind you, I said "discussed") stopping by and catching the RHPS.... but a: I don't know if they're still doing that, and b: we might be tired by then...

Whee!

Well, if I were in the neighborhood, I'd be your shabbos dinner fairy...

Feel better soon!

Ugh -- sorry you're not feeling well! And on Friday of all days ...
yermie From: yermie Date: February 27th, 2004 09:48 am (UTC) (Link)
Yes, but you know, statistically, 40% of all "sick" days are taken on Monday and Friday, whereas only 20% are taken on Wednesday.

hm...

yermie From: yermie Date: February 27th, 2004 09:51 am (UTC) (Link)
Edit:

That should read:

40% of all "sick" days are taken on Monday and Friday, whereas only 20% are taken on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

Sorry for the misleading info.

Once more, with feeling...

And, as a source for my numbers, consider the following math:

5 day work week.
1 day off = 20% of the week.

Monday + Friday = 40%
Tuesday OR Wednesday OR Thursday = 20% (1 day each).

See? As Foghorn Leghorn says "Figgers don't lie".
