shavua tov!
We had a very nice shabbos. We stayed with Ellen and despite Yitzy being a complete pain in the tuchis when we first got there, we had a great time. I actually made it to shul, which was nice. The rabbi gave a very nice drash, which I'm hoping I retain for some reasonable period of time. Here's hoping. I'm often very bad at retaining what he says unless I hear him say it more than once.

I had a splitting migraine during services, so I left a few minutes after the kiddush started. Seth and I went back to Ellen's and I took drugs and we both fell asleep (me in bed, him on the couch). When Ellen and the kids got home, she saw that we were both sleeping so she went for a nap herself. When we all got up, we had a very late lunch and then Seth went back to shul for mincha.

We came home and I went to get the mail and on my way back from the mailbox, I slipped on the ice and had a nasty fall. I whacked my head pretty hard, so I've got a bit of a headache, but I'm otherwise fine. The mortifying thing is that my sheitel came flying off (mostly) because it wasn't clipped on very well (because of the earlier migraine). So my sheitel was dangling by one clip as my neighbor came over to see if I was okay. I felt stupid, but at least I'm okay.

And tonight...we're going bowling with Robin and Mark. Yay!

So, how was bowling?? I an envious. I also had a migraine headache...a really bad one. I slept until 9:30 this morning. Got up, Joel made breakfast, we played scrabble. He is just trying to recoup the title since I beat him to pieces last night. I went into work for a few hours today, now I am home and we have errands to do!

Re:

Bowling was awesome. I haven't been bowling in probably 15 years (until last night, that is). The bowling alley we wanted to go to was closed for a private party until 11:30 last night, so it was a very late night, but it was great to be out late for once. It made me feel slightly less old, except that I seriously hurt my wrist, my knee, and possibly my hip. That made me feel a bit old. But that's okay. A good time was had by all. It wasn't cheap, so next time maybe we'll go to a less expensive bowling alley, but this was worth the expense for a once in a blue moon experience.

I'm sorry you had a migraine. They suck badly. I'm beginning to wonder if there's a connection between migraines and PCOS. Lots of women I know with migraines also have PCOS. But who knows.

I love Scrabble! Sometimes I'm seriously bad at it, but I still love it. Seth hates it, but I think that's because he's bad at it. Which is funny, because he has an extraordinary vocabulary. He plays all sorts of really strange games, and I yearn for good old fashioned board games like Monopoly, Clue, Trivial Pursuit, Parchesi (sp?) and the like. Heh. Oh well, the sacrifices we make for marriage, right? :)

I assume we're still on for 8pm on Wednesday? Looking forward to it.

Re:

The rabbi and his wife are OFF for the week, out of town, which I know for certain, as they are neighbors. Bummer. They will be back next week.
Bowling is very expensive. Everything these days is costly. Sometimes we hang out at bookstores or go downtown when it is warmer. Today we went to Ikea and got some household items. Whoopee!

Ow!

Hope you feel better. Next year for your birthday, I'm getting you those spikey mountain climbing boots for walks to shul in the ice. Maybe for Chanukah. Or July 4th.
