Pesach and Snarkiness!
Whoo hoo! We'll be in Maine for Pesach!

I just made our reservations for Pesach at The Cliff House Resort & Spa. We'll be joining the entire Feld/Pearlman/Burstein clan!

I figure we've vowed not to spend holidays with our families, but that doesn't mean we can't spend it with those who we consider our "extended family"... The Felds and Pearlmans really ARE family to us! Hooray.

Harold and Becky, thanks for letting us know we'd be welcome tagalongs. I really hope you don't think we'll be the third (or 23rd) wheel. :)

Now to figure out how to pay for it...We could sell the kid off, which would also save us the cost of his reservation. :) Hmmm. This plan has merit. Except, he's not ours. And I'd miss him. So okay, that plan's out.

Earlier today, leahmiriam offered to pay me $5 if I replied to one of my list serves with the snarky comment that I said out loud. Maybe there's a plan in this. I figured that $5 would help pay that ginormous gas bill we got, but there could be more to this plan! I could auction off my snarkiness! Anyone you want me to be snarky to? I charge $5 for the first minute and $1.95 for each subsequent minute. :-D

Current Mood: jubilant jubilant

Congrats on the Pesach plans! It sounds lovely, actually.
(Maybe some year I'll do something like that.)

Hm... any chance you'll have an hour or three in Boston...?

It's only an hour and fifteen minutes (driving distance) from Boston (or so says the website). We're not entirely certain if we're going to drive (as the Felds do) or fly up there, but if we drive, one of the things I'm hoping to do is spend a day in Boston. I miss my old stomping grounds! :)

I never thought I'd want to spend Pesach away. I love Pesach. I love cooking for Pesach. I love Pesach cleaning, even if I get a little stressed the week before Pesach. I love the whole process. I love the sedarim. I love everything. Really. I know I'm a freak. I even love the food (but that's largely because last year I bought a case of avocados and had lots of fun with salads).

Ooh, if you spend a day in Boston, I'd be happy to have you over for meals :-).

*bounces with excitement at RL meeting*

Drive. You will want your car there.

Now since we have three of us going up (us, Shmu and Sherry, and you) we can talk about caravaning and make it doable.

Also, we usually drive by night? Why? Drive ten hours with Julian at night. Then drive ten hours with Julian by day. Note the sleeping, non-barfing Julian at night?

Yes, it means dealing with an awake Julian once you get there. Two words: lap top. They make great portable DVD players.

Yeah! There are going to be, like, 20 Felds. And, um, us. But that's okay. We blend. Sort of.

The Felds & Pearlmans are great!

estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: January 10th, 2006 07:26 pm (UTC) (Link)
Yes!

They still ask about you occasionally. You made quite an impression. :)

Have you been watching Monty Python?

estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: January 10th, 2006 07:26 pm (UTC) (Link)
Me? No. Why?
mabfan From: mabfan Date: January 10th, 2006 06:24 pm (UTC) (Link)
We'll be joining the entire Feld/Pearlman clan!

And Burstein...let's not forget Burstein... :-)
estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: January 10th, 2006 07:27 pm (UTC) (Link)
I almost added in Burstein, but I figured you were an extension of the Pearlman clan. I recognize the error of my ways and I'll edit appropriately!
mabfan From: mabfan Date: January 10th, 2006 07:37 pm (UTC) (Link)
Thanks! (Although it's not the entire Burstein clan, since my mother and brothers and their families won't be there...but it is important to note that there will be two Bursteins present. So it is the enitre Feld/Pearlman/Burstein clan, in that respect, since only gnomi and I are part of that particular clan. If you understand the distinction.)

We're going here:

Wish we could be up there with you all, it sounds like a blast, it really really does, but truthfully, living in White Oak, we're not cool enough. We have to go away for Pesach to see your great rav!

Mainly we are staying close to home because Joel needs to be able to work Chol Hamoed with the time we are already taking off for the adoption!

Oh man. Do you realize they've got a Ping Pong and Board Game Competition there??
leahmiriam From: leahmiriam Date: January 10th, 2006 07:48 pm (UTC) (Link)
Yes, it is totally our kind of place. I can show off my ping pong prowess :)

I am so green-eyed!!!! One of my dreams is to go away for Pesach... They've started advertising deals here. I keep hoping for a miracle!
Have fun for me! It is your duty.
