I still need a palm pilot. I think I've decided on the tungsten E2. But I just don't know. Seth says ideally I'd have an integrated PDA/Cellphone (e.g. blackberry or treo), but I don't like Verizon's options for them. So I'm trying to decide if he's right. He probably is.

My friends all rave about their Blackberries. If I weren't such a stubborn Luddite, I'd probably get one myself.

(Heck, I'm still using a 6 year old iMac.)

If I felt I needed a handheld computer, I'd probably go for one with an integrated phone. It just seems like it would be so much simpler to keep everything in one device.

My huasbnad, who used to responsible for the telecom needs of bell technicians, favours blackberries when all the parts are needed, that being said, if you do not need palm/cell/pager but only 2 of the 3, he recommends getting the two. Just his $0.02

Hm. I definitely do not need a pager. After all, my cell phone functions just fine.

But I definitely need a PDA and a Cell Phone. SIGH.

well, you just answered your question there.

Because, if you don't get a cell phone-PDA combo, you are going to constantly be looking things up in your PDA to punch them in your cell phone. And then you are going to leave your PDA at home, and not have it, and not have something in your cell phone, and it will make you grumpy.

I know this, because that was me for YEARS. I know have a Blackberry cell phone for work, and a Treo for personal use. That plus IPod means I only have to carry 3 devices, as opposed to 5 or six before (when I had both Cell and PDA for work and home -- and there's a pager in there somewhere).

IMHO, get a Treo. The only reason to get a blackberry is if it ties in with a corporate email system, that is the ONLY way they are better than a Treo. The 650 is dropping in price all the time, but if you want windows, if you wait a few months, the new one that runs windows will be out (but more expensive).
