Can I just call a time-out? Because I seriously have no idea how I'm going to make it through the month of November without a BREAK.

Would a few hours off at the movies do the trick?

I just don't think so. I can't seem to do something like that without spending the entire time thinking about the laundry that isn't done or the dishes in the sink or the drycleaning I haven't picked up, or the fact that If I have time to watch a movie, I should have time to color with Julian.

I saw her yesterday. She knows I'm frazzled, she knows about Seth. If she'd offered to take J, I would have jumped on it. But she didn't and I'm not going to ask right now.

You're very sweet, but I would prefer that you DO come to dinner tomorrow night. Just so long as you're not expecting creme brulee or anything.

Maybe you could take a week off between jobs?

I can't, but only because the guy I'm replacing is being called into Active Duty Reserves the day after Turkey Day and I really want the benefit of the "brain dump" (so to speak) from him since (a) in 6 months I'll be working with him again, and (b) this new job moves into areas I've not worked before, so I really want to get a good foundation before he disappears.

I am, however, planning to build up some comp hours so I can take some time off in December or January. That's the beauty of the new job. I can do that.

How about Shabbos in bed?
estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: November 10th, 2005 06:46 pm (UTC) (Link)
I can't. Seth is still not able to even stand, so one of us has to wrangle the monster.

Oh, that's right. Hmmm. Is there a grandma nearby? Is she due for a visit?:)

You could always put Julien on a bus and have him come up to Canada for a few days!:)

What about Seth's mother? Could she take him for a weekend?

I hope things are better soon.

She probably would if I'd let her. As it is, I'm actually going to give her a carseat on Sunday and beg her to take him away. This is a major step in our relationship. Actually, she might decide never to do it again if he's as witchy for her as he is for us!

Hope your break's going well, and the first day tomorrow is very low stress.

hey there. Thanks for thinking of me. I've just been too busy for LJ. Seth threw his back out last week and is only just now getting back to work, and I've been trying to get my act together for the new job, so I've been an LJ slacker.

Thanks for the well-wishes.

:)
