I just had a highly annoying phone conversation with a doctor's office that I called for a new consult. They were so rude and blunt. They made me feel like a piece of meat, not a human being. L warned me that's how I'd feel...I just didn't expect to feel like that from the time I called to make an appointment. Boy do they suck.

oh, I'm fine. Just my normal stuff. It's a doctor that is not unlike the Canadian doctors you had IMd me about at one point. Sorry for being vague. I'll be happy to IM you about it.

Sorry

Sorry you have to go through that.

I remember once reading a omedy pice in a medical magazine of what would happen if patients were the ones in charge

"Oh, come in dr, please put your coat over there, wipe your feet, and leave all dignity at the door. Patient X is running a little behind today so why don't you flip through this issue of Time magazine... yes, it looks like we might be landing on the moon at some point in next decade! I'll need to see our medical licence, your diploma and the name of an emergenct contact I can all if I need to reschedual. Please not ethere is a fee for missed appointments. Now change into your scrubs and someone will be with you shortly.

Re: Sorry

Tee hee, that's funny. It's not a big deal. I just don't like being treated like I'M not the important one in the doctor-patient relationship. Mind you, this was the office staff I take issue with; I haven't seen the doctor.

Re: Sorry

Unfortunatly sometimes office staff forget they are there to help facilitate care between dr and patient. Hope things go well from her on in.

Meh. It is what it is. It's not the doctor I'm taking issue with. It's the office staff treating me like I'm not the important one in the Doctor-Patient relationship. But this practice is the best around, and that's what matters at this point.

My family doctor's office is like that. I can totally relate. Unfortunately, in Ontario, Canada, we have such a doctor shortage that we can't switch to someone who is nicer or even more competent...the waiting list is ridiculous.

Hang in there!

yeah, it's not a big deal. I was just annoyed. Doctors offices all seem to think that you should be grateful for the time they spare for you.
