Pictures! At long last!
Finally! New pictures of the monster!

April was not a very prolific picture-taking-month. Aside from Passover preparations, I kept forgetting to put batteries in the camera, so it was never ready when I needed it. Now we've got batteries in the camera and we're starting May off right by posting the pictures that are left from March and April!

Julian is really doing well. He's saying a lot of words consistently now: please, more, fire (firetruck), truck, bus, bee, bird, tree, me, Abba, no (of course), digger, dump truck, duck, kitty, animal, car, train, frog, cheese, milk, water, shoe, sock, cracker, book and much more! He's also getting much more interested in repeating sounds back to us when we say them.

His favorite foods include: hot dogs, french fries, cheese, MILK, yogurt, applesauce, sliced apples, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, pizza, pretzels, cucumbers, hard boiled eggs, omelets, and animal cookies.

He's quite tall and he's definitely getting lanky. He's having to learn that his legs are longer, so sometimes he doesn't pick up his feet quite as much as he should, but he's adjusting quite well. He loves the kitty kats slightly more than they love him, but they do tolerate him. He gets very excited when a cat walks into the room.

Most importantly, he LOVES people. All people. He's not afraid of anyone and loves having new people to play with. Everyone gets big toothy grins and enormous smiles, and he loves giving hugs and kisses. He's happy to show off for anyone and everyone, so come by and see him! We would love to see you. (Eema & Abba could use some adult conversation!)

Anyway, here is the link for the pictures:

oooh! Abba!

Is it wrong that that caption made me picture Seth singing "Take a Chance On Me"?

yes! ;)

Just kidding.

Abba means "father" in Hebrew. (Eema means "mother")

You know, I'm still picturing Seth singing Abba's catalog of songs, and it just keeps getting funnier. Maybe I need to get him drunk and drag him to karaoke sometime. Wanna watch?

Abba means "father" in Hebrew.

Yep, I know.

We took Richard to the National Zoo last month. It was a lot bigger than I'd expected, and pretty impressive -- you ought to take Julian there sometime.

Yep. It's a trip that I used to take regularly. Julian and his nanny are planning a trip probably sometime next month.

It was my first time there, although I've been to the zoo in Baltimore several times.

I'm the other way around. I've never been to the Baltimore Zoo. But I used to visit the Washington Zoo a couple times a year.

Yay, pictures! He certainly is getting tall. I had to go back and look at my favvy pic of him so far, the one at the piano. :)

he's huge!

He sure is tall! What size does he wear? I'm lucky to get mine into 24m for anything but dresses (2T makes them tznius!). And all those teeth! Has he got all 20 yet?

Lookin' good kid!
estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: May 5th, 2005 03:00 am (UTC) (Link)
He's in a 3T pretty consistently, particularly with shirts. He's got a long torso. Pants are still usually a 2T. He's VERY tall!

Don't you only have to worry about tznius for girls starting at age 3?

As for teeth...sheesh...he's got a mouthful. He's working on #'s 15 and 16. I'm sure the 2 year molars are coming soon! No rest for the weary...

I have no problem putting my kid in pants (or even shorts this year still) and I don't worry too much if her skirt grows too short at this point, but I want to start them tznius so that she gets used to the idea (and they last longer). Does that sound silly? Short skirts just really bug me!

We just cut #16. Not looking forward to the last 4, but then we're DONE! (at least for a bit!)

that makes absolute sense.

Julian's been trying to get 15 and 16 in forEVER. They're definitely bugging him... he drools and chews on EVERYTHING and his little cheeks are red. Poor baby.

Aww. Poor kid. 13 took forever, the other 4 just popped all in under 2 weeks. Not too bad, but 16 was murder for a day. I could have throttled the kid!

I'm happy to see that "frog" made the word list!
estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: May 5th, 2005 12:44 pm (UTC) (Link)
Frog was an early word of his, actually, though it took us a while to figure out that's what he was saying.

I love frogs. And lizards. I'm holding out for him to say "lizard" or "gecko." :)
allah_sulu From: allah_sulu Date: May 5th, 2005 10:05 pm (UTC) (Link)
or "gecko." :)

Wait until he needs car insurance.
