defeat
I admit defeat, and I'm going to bed.

ETA: I just realized Seth's alarm is going off in 90 minutes and I'm only just now going to crawl into bed. Wow. This is not wise.

Current Mood: exhausted exhausted

Lady, one day you're going to implode. Then you'll HAVE to let the cleaning lady clean!

Oh. Good point. I should cut it out. After I made this post, I went to brush my teeth and took a clorox wipe and wiped off the toilet and sink. I am a freak.

Ms Karen. Please knock this shit off. How can you keep abusing yourself like this week in and week out?

That said, I am sure it will be a fab shabbos. Thanks for giving Donna my check and key :)

I'm not usually up QUITE that late. It's going to be a fab shabbos for sure. If I don't burn the soup when I reheat it. I tasted it before I put it away last night and it ROCKS!

I worry about you. Do you think there's anyway you could work your schedule so that you have Fridays off, starting at noon? You could go to the market on Thursday, get some stuff prepared, then finish up in the afternoon.

I don't think haShem expects anyone to kills themselves to get Shabbat dinner on the table. Really. :0( Your tenacity is admirable, but maybe the reason you're sick (earaches, anyone?) is because you don't get enough rest?!

The earaches aren't from lack of sleep. I have a weird kind of thing (can't remember what it's called) that just makes me have ear infections. A lot. The doc said there's nothing they can do about it except treat it when the ear infection happens.

I'm not usually up until 3. I'm usually up until around 1 on Thursdays.

And no, there's no way for me to rework my schedule to have half a day off on friday. I had that at my old job. But this client has different needs. If I didn't work on-site it would be different, but the client notices when I'm not here (and not in a good way).

Typically, I go to the market on Wednesday and at least get my head organized that night. Thursday I cook. But Julian's bedtime has shifted to be quite a bit later than it used to be (stupid DST), so that cuts out a couple hours of work time right there.

I'm not miserable about it, really. Last night I actually had a fair bit of energy. And I woke up feeling all groggy and icky this morning, but by 7 (an hour after I got up) I was pretty darned functional and am only just now turning to caffeine for assistance (this is late for me even on days that I sleep 8 hours). Also remember that psychologically this week I have to make up for the disaster of last week, which partially happened because I wanted to get to bed more than I wanted to make sure everything was all set for Friday.

Terribly non-scientific, but... lack of sleep can suppress your immune system, which could contribute to illness. Just a thought.

Hmm... too bad about not being about to rearrange your schedule. I'm sure Shabbos will be lovely... I just don't want you to run yourself ragged!

sure, of course it can. The problem with my ears, actually, is an overactive immune system. In every other way my immune system is crap. Go figure. And yes, in general my crappy immune system is probably partially due to sleep deprivation these days.

I don't need to rearrange my Fridays, I need to rearrange the rest of my week. I have no excuse for not being able to get this done at a decent hour or earlier in the week. But there's no sense trying to create new habits in this regard until Pesach is over.
