Spring is here...
You know how I know that Spring is here? Because my uncontrollable sneezing fits have tripled. And I was already having them every hour or so. Hooray.

On brighter notes, other signs of spring:
  • There are two blooms on my camelia! This, despite the fact that we didn't cover it through the winter to protect it from the ice.
  • We found our first ant of the season and now have an appointment with the pest control people next week.
  • Robins are coming back. Birds are chirping (too flipping early in the morning, but I'll live).
  • Our dogwood is starting to bud.
  • I found an azalea bloom. Just one.
  • Before we sent him to his foster home, Charlie was shedding his winter coat like MAD.
  • Did I mention those damn chirping birds in the MORNING?
  • My office is broiling again. Disgusting. It's supposed to be 80 degrees today. That's. Just. Wrong.

That is all.

Not as much as Charlie. Pipsqueak sheds, but it's not as drastic. The kitten doesn't shed very much, but he's young. He may not have figured out how yet.

for some reason i thought siamese didn't shed
estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: April 6th, 2005 08:07 pm (UTC) (Link)
well, first... they do. But second... Charlie is only half siamese.

Anyway, you probably thought that because the typical siamese that most people think of has rather short sleek fur... but it still sheds. LOTS.

there's some cat that doesn't shed......i know that! and not the hairless ones

All animals with fur shed to some extent. What you may be thinking of is the genetically altered cats that don't produce dander, so they're non-allergenic, but even they shed.

are those expensive? do they really have no allergies??(you know what i mean)
estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: April 7th, 2005 12:02 pm (UTC) (Link)
it reduces them to a minimum for sure.

I'm not even sure you can really get them yet, but the last article I read projected that they would cost about $5000 apiece.

oh...i thought they already had them. i'm dumb
estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: April 7th, 2005 01:15 pm (UTC) (Link)
well, I think they might. It's been a long time since I've seen an article about it. You're not dumb.

They're extremely cost-prohibitive either way, so unfortunately, I won't be getting one. There's also question of whether it affects their personalities.

really? it would effect their personality???? huh. i never thought of that. i just ask b/c i want a kitty...and dan is anti kitty b/c of allergies (haha)
estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: April 7th, 2005 01:31 pm (UTC) (Link)
I doubt if Dan is going to drop $5K on a cat.
