That Damn Cat
Charlie peed in my candy bowl. I had a big huge bowl full of candy for shaloch manos.

Fortunately, I already made 26 shaloch manos and that will simply have to do. It's just that it was a LOT of candy.

That little rat. He may not live long enough to get to a new foster home through Siamese Rescue. I might kill him.

Current Mood: angry angry

Whoa.

Oy. Wow. That's ... breathtaking.

Yeah, put the little critter in a strait jacket so he doesn't cause any more damage or before you kill him.

Re: Whoa.

Kitty guillotine? With his own little cart?

If my cat did that I'd have to smack him hard...

Well, Charlie's going away. We're just waiting for the siamese rescue foundation to come up with a foster home.

Put a diaper on him until then. It seems like that's where all your problems with him stem from ;)

That's a good point. I wonder if he'd tolerate it. I bet he'd have it off in 10 seconds flat.

Not dead yet.

Except for the bronchitis, I seem to be back to normal. You know, whatever normal is.

Good to know I'm not the only one whose pet has it out for Purim.

Ouch!

How quickly can the rescue folks get him a new home? How long do you have to give them to do so?

(Is there a part of the house you can confine him to in the meantime? Or am I sleeping in it tonight? :-) )
estherchaya From: estherchaya Date: March 24th, 2005 08:14 pm (UTC) (Link)
He's a very difficult cat to contain because, first of all, it makes him miserable; second of all, he's a very adept escape artiste.

No idea how long it'll take or how long we're obligated to give them. If they don't have a home for him in a week, we will take him to a non-euthanising shelter.

The candy bowl, the bathtubs, Julian's bed, our spare bed (which has now been thrown out), Julian's toddler seat (now being disinfected), the floor of the sunroom, our new carpet in the sunroom, you name it, Charlie's found it. Hopefully he'll be gone by Sunday.

Hi Esther Chaya

BS"D

Hi. I'm a new livejournal user. I saw your name in some of the groups that interested me, clicked on it, and found out we have many things in common. My English name is Karen, too. May I add you to my friends' list? Hope to see you around.

Re: Hi Esther Chaya

What a funny entry to put this in. :) I'm sorry your introduction to me had to be an entry about a cat peeing inappropriately!

I would love to have you add me to your friends' list. I'm just warning you that I sometimes use my journal to express the things I can't express in the frum world (so I'm not always careful about my language, for example, though I'm trying to get better about it). I'm also not as frum as you (yet?), so I hope you won't be shocked by anything! (I'm working on it) Now I'm going to be all self-conscious!

Anyway, welcome to the LJ universe.

Re: Hi Esther Chaya

Please don't be self-conscious. I'm a baalas teshuva, so I've seen plenty of the world, and I try not to be too judgmental. And anyone who knows Mordechai & me can tell you: we are not typical Hasidim. (We wouldn't be online if we were.)

I tried responding to this message yesterday, but it appears that it didn't go through. Sorry for any repetitions. I'm still a newbie here, not entirely clear on how it all works.

Re: Hi Esther Chaya

I'm always self-conscious about the frum people who read my journal. On the one hand, I want more frum people to read my journal, because I clearly need to be pushed toward improving my yiddishkeit, but on the other hand, I get all scared that I'll offend someone.
